Boss Graphic EQ settings for Dobro-style sound

Post by Jeffery Mercer »

Does anyone know how to set the sliders on the Boss Graphic EQ Pedal in order-
To achieve the DOBRO Sound? Please send a picture if you will of the Setting (if possible)
IT REALLY WORKS! It makes your Steel guitar sound like a Dobro…
Thank-You!
Jeff

From left to right. first slider all the way down, then all the way up, alternating. Keep level at middle

You will likely hear noise if it doesn't have the analogman mod and afaik analogman won't mod the newer GE-7 that are built with surface mount components.
Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. Give praise to the Lord with the harp, chant unto Him with the ten-stringed psaltery. Sing unto Him a new song, chant well unto Him with jubilation. For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works are in faithfulness. The Lord loveth mercy and judgement; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.
- Psalm 33:1-5

you can use the old Danelectro Fish & Chips eq as well…any seven band eq w/ the same frequency sliders….left to right just alternate…cut the first low slider totally dime the next cut the next dime the next.
Pre RP Mullen D10 8/7, Zum 3/4, Carter S-10 3/4, previous Cougar SD-10 3/4 & GFI S-10 3/4, Fender Steel King, 2 Peavey Session 500's, Peavey Nashville 400, Boss DD-3, Profex-II, Hilton Digital Sustain, '88 Les Paul Custom,Epiphone MBIBG J-45, Fender Strat & Tele's, Takamine acoustics, Marshall amps, Boss effects, Ibanez Tube Screamer, and it all started with an old cranky worn out Kay acoustic you could slide a Mack truck between the strings and fretboard on!!

The mod helps with the noise...but in the absence of the mod...

...put the EQ pedal between the steel and the VP...that way, when the VP is off-no noise.

I've used both, and either will work for live OR recording....
