Interesting idea for clamping effect pedal to a PSG leg

Post by Bruce Derr »

I was at the grocery store today and I noticed this interesting little broom clamp made by Command. I bought one to experiment with. It looks like a good way to clamp an effect pedal to the leg of a steel. It grips the leg very well and yet is very easy to attach and pull off. A pedal could be attached to the clamp using Velcro or even a rubber band. It's cheap ($6), looks convenient, and can be as permanent or temporary as you want. I haven't messed with it much yet but it looks promising. They are probably available at Walmart or anywhere that has the Command picture-hanging stuff.

So how did it hold up with the weight of the pedal on it?

With Velcro, this “might” hold a Strobostomp HD Tuner or other similar sized mini pedal… 🤔

Package shows it will handle 4 lbs. Should work fine as long at the outward weight doesn't tip it off and away. I see some of these simple inventions and think, I could have invented that and made a few bucks?

I tied a 5 lb. weight to it and it held.

I have used broom clips this way before. I put this box together over 40 years ago and used it for many years. The metal broom clips never scratched the leg of my steel. The original Webb remote reverb used the same clip.
